Let's get this thing rollin'!

Next week we are going to continue our unit on the solar system. My students are going to have the responsibility of creating a model to represent each of the planets. You giggle, because it sounds pretty old school, but hands on learning still tops the charts as one of the best ways to learn information and retain facts.

I love this picture I found about our journey around the sun. We started this new year off with a beautiful new moon as well and I can't wait to get back to my children who are so excited to continue this stretch of learning about outer space together!

Here's to traveling 584,336,200 more miles around the sun in 2014!
